When my mother was with us , I remember how much she loved to “play” and be entertained. I used to dance and sing for her and she would just get so tickled and laugh until she almost cried! Of course, her beloved Caldonia, her Memorable Pet cat was always part of the fun. Our motto was “fun first” !! Oh how I miss those child-like times with her.

Memorable Pets has had an exciting week! We were featured in three Southern CA papers: Daily Breeze, Daily News, and Long Beach Press Telegram! Stephanie Cary reported on the benefits of Memorable Pets and how buying one also helps to fund research since we donate 18% of all proceeds to the Alzheimer’s Association. Daughter Lisa, Could Not Wait Til Christmas To Give Her Dad His Memorable Pet Dog!

Lisa Ross from Louisville Kentucky, bought her Dad a Memorable Pet daschund for Christmas. Lisa emailed us and said she just could not wait until Christmas to giver her Dad his new friend! Lisa says “As you can see, he LOVES his new dog!!”

Michela Paradiso beats out over 400 HS Seniors to capture 1st place on her Capstone project!

Michela Paradiso, a high school senior at Upper Arlington High near Columbus Ohio, beats all the competition and takes 1st place on her Capstone projects of Alzheimer’s and Memorable Pets! She has won a nice prize of $750 for all her work and dedication to our cause. I attended one of her Capstone presentations and was very impressed about her knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and how something as simple as a Memorable Pet can help someone who is suffering. She blew the competition away! Way to go Michela!! She will be attending Ohio State University in the fall and will be playing for their soccer team. Michela wants to become a doctor…maybe in the field of geriatrics?

Michela Paradiso of Upper Arlington Heights High School in Upper Arlington, Ohio will be presenting her Capstone Project on Alzheimer’s and Memorable Pets tomorrow May 21st to a panel of independent judges. Her project has been ranked in the top 10 of her school by a panel of teachers and administrator’s. Michela has taken her project very seriously and has done a marvelous job. She has shown passion in every aspect of her project and has described the experience as life changing!

Obama Administration Puts Comprehensive Plan into Law to Conquer Alzheimer’s by 2025

We finally did it! On May 15th, our President put into place a comprehensive plan to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementia’s by 2025. This is the first for our nation. The main points to the plan are:

Prevent and Effectively Treat Alzheimer’s Disease by 2025.
Optimize Care Quality and Efficiency.
Expand Supports for People with Alzheimer’s Disease and Their Families.
Enhance Public Awareness and Engagement.
Track Progress and Drive Improvement.

We have to push hard and make sure we stay on track to see that it all develops by 2025.
